Industry Profiles
The table below lists a series of industry profiles and potential contaminants in generic groupings that may be associated with the different industries. It is important to note that the information displayed in the industry profiles is not definitive, and the potential contaminants are only what could be typically found.
Each industry profile is hyperlinked to provide a dedicated page giving a greater level of detail about the background of the profile, associated potential processes and operations and potential contaminants of concern in more detail. They also link to the original profile (where applicable) and to further information sources.
The individual profile pages only give information on the typical contaminants which might be associated with specific industries and will not necessarily have all the contaminants that may be found. The examples of 'potential contaminants' are only examples, to act as a guide to help the user understand what contaminants could be within the 'main groups of contaminants'. It is important to consider other contaminants within those groupings.
Remember, every site is unique and the information displayed in the profiles is to help establish past uses. Information on a site's specific history needs to be gathered by supplementary research.
